  12. As a newbie (in fact this is my first Internet-mail...) I would like
  13. to ask for help/suggestions, because I'm losing connection to my
  14. provider regularly; sometimes twice a minute, and sometimes the
  15. connection will last for hours. I'm using an external V.34 SmartLink
  16. (Archtek) modem, which is FlashROM updated 'till v.007.
  17. The modemtype is 2834A and is V.34 only (no VFC).

  28. I've got 2 questions:
  29. 1. is there anyone using the same modembrand/-type as I am who has
  30. another (better) modemprofile stored or has any hints or suggestions?
  31. 2. where can I find a SmartLink/Archtek site, to obtain any possible
  32. newer FlashROM update?
  33.  
  34. All suggestions are more than welcome, because I'm insecure whether
  35. the settings are incorrect or the modem is bad and I have to buy
  36. another one.
